Job Title: Maintenance Lead (Reliability and Compliance Engineering)
Location: Staffordshire, UK (working between our Rugeley and Fradley sites)
Shift pattern: Permanent contract, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (day shift)

Are you a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for the next step in your career to improve reliability and compliance performance within our Premier Nutrition sites? This role will suit someone who combines hands-on engineering capability with the ability to coordinate work across a multi-skilled team. You’ll remain close to the tools, while also helping plan maintenance days, work on continuous improvements, ensuring legal compliance, allocate shutdown tasks, support root cause analysis, and coordinate engineering activity across both sites.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Promote the company’s Target Zero approach to Safety and Feed Safety responsibilities and quality aspirations.
- Support Continuous Improvement by applying our Everyday Excellence model, building a tangible and inclusive improvement culture.
- Ongoing compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation and Policy.
- Work with the Shift Engineers to ensure that an effective maintenance programme is delivered on shift via the Preventative Maintenance Pillar principles and that all Daily Team Maintenance activities on shift are owned by shift operators.
- Carry out both breakdown and planned preventative maintenance using your engineering skills providing cover for shift engineers when required.
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with legal requirements and regulations ensuring that Take 2 and return to service compliance is 100%.
- Collaborate with the engineering, operations and safety teams to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

What We’re Looking For
- Experienced multi-skilled engineer with a completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent background.
- City & Guilds Level 3, or an equivalent engineering qualification and 18th Edition electrical qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- Solid practical engineering capability within manufacturing environment, with confidence in fault finding, diagnostics, electrical work, PLCs, and mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with root cause analysis, reliability improvement, or structured engineering problem solving.
- A grounded, strategic mindset and the ability to maintain stability as priorities evolve.
- Experience in FMCG, food, feed, or manufacturing environments.
- Lean Manufacturing/CI Experience related to asset care and defect elimination
- Experience of Safety, Health & Environment and feed safety responsibilities relating to engineering compliance
- Experience of auditing quality standards i.e. UFAS, BRC, SEDEX
- Experience of managing adherence to GMP & HACCP procedures
- 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of CMMS
