An established manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead its engineering team at a busy production facility in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong engineering leader to take ownership of maintenance performance across a high-volume manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvement, while developing a team of skilled engineers and working closely with production to deliver operational excellence.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant availability across high-speed production and packaging lines. The role will focus on delivering an effective preventative maintenance strategy, responding to equipment issues in a structured way and using engineering data to improve reliability and eliminate recurring faults.

Alongside managing day-to-day engineering activities, the successful candidate will lead and develop a team of Shift Engineers, creating a culture built around accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Operations, they will ensure engineering priorities are aligned with production demands while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment and will be confident managing maintenance teams in a fast-paced production setting.

You will have a recognised engineering qualification and a strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems, CMMS software, and root cause analysis.
