Maintenance Manager, West Yorkshire, Up to £70k (DOE)
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Benefits
Sector: Manufacturing (Packaging Experience Desired)
About the Role
Are you an experienced engineering leader with a strong electrical background who thrives on bringing out the best in people?
My Client is an ambitious, rapidly expanding manufacturing business based in West Yorkshire, and we are looking for an outstanding Maintenance Manager to join them during an exciting phase of growth.
While technical expertise is crucial, this role is as much about people as it is about plant and machinery. We need an inspiring leader who can guide, motivate, and upscale a large, growing maintenance team, cultivating a high-performance culture grounded in team development and operational reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead & Inspire: Manage, mentor, and scale a large maintenance team, fostering a collaborative, proactive, and continuously improving work environment.
- Electrical Leadership: Serve as the site’s primary authority on electrical engineering standards, continuous improvements, and compliance.
- Maintain & Optimize: Oversee daily reactive repairs and refine preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimize downtime across manufacturing processes.
- Scale the Operation: Build talent pipelines, identify skill gaps, and implement training programs as the business and team continue to expand.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production, continuous improvement, and safety teams to align engineering goals with overall operational targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
