Role Overview
- Term: 40 hours per week (flexible 5/7 availability required)
- Salary: Circa £48,500.00 + benefits
- Location: Tavistock Hotel, Bloomsbury, London
- Property: A homely 395-room hotel with an on-site Indian restaurant/bar and laid-back lounge bar

For our Tavistock Hotel, we seek a Maintenance Manager to lead day-to-day maintenance operations, uphold brand standards, and inspire a high-performing team while supporting the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily and scheduled maintenance tasks while prioritising safety, efficiency, and compliance with H&S legislation and company policy.
- Assign workloads, plan preventive and corrective maintenance, and manage contractors, shift engineers, and decorators.
- Regularly inspect hotel equipment, services, buildings, and plant to ensure adherence to H&S standards and brand guidelines.
- Maintain operational knowledge of maintenance systems—plant rooms, electrical equipment, and fire safety systems—while conducting inspections and enforcing standards.
- Ensure all team members adhere to H&S and security protocols and operate equipment safely.
- Recruit, train, and develop the team through coaching, performance reviews, and KPI management while addressing underperformance.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a hotel maintenance, large retail, or building management role (preferred).
- Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and decoration tasks (trade qualifications like NVQ Level 2/3 in electrical/plumbing/heating are advantageous).
- Deep knowledge of Health & Safety laws and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Strong workplace management skills with the ability to handle pressure, prioritise tasks efficiently, and resolve issues promptly.
- Self-motivated, meticulous, and safety-focused with excellent communication and flexible leadership.
- Proven track record of team motivation and achieving business objectives.
