Job Introduction

Maintenance Manager – Dunbar Cement Plant

We are currently recruiting for an experienced leader to join our team at Tarmac’s Cement Plant in Dunbar, Scotland.

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant by leading all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities across the site. You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for driving high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational reliability, while supporting the plant’s long-term strategy and performance.

As Dunbar Cement Plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, this role requires flexibility. This may include occasional night working, weekends, bank holidays, and being on call as required to ensure the safe and effective running of the plant.

You will build and maintain strong working relationships across the site and wider business, working closely with production, technical, and support functions to maximise plant availability and performance.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Safety

  • Promote and role-model a safety-first culture across the maintenance function.
  • Ensure the highest standards are maintained in line with CRH Life Saving Rules, legal requirements, and Company policies.
  • Drive a Zero Harm culture through visible safety leadership, coaching, and high standards of compliance.
  • Ensure robust risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place and consistently followed.
  • Lead Safety Leadership Interactions (SLIs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
