We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative - Fabric to join our team based at Harwood Road, supporting healthcare sites across the North Yorkshire region. This is a permanent position offering stability and the chance to make a real difference within NHS facilities.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Operative - Fabric, you will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a portfolio of NHS properties. The role has a strong focus on carpentry and joinery works, ensuring our buildings remain safe, operational and fit for purpose for patients, visitors and colleagues.
This is a mobile role covering sites throughout North Yorkshire. A fully equipped company van, tools and equipment will be provided, enabling you to travel between sites and carry out your duties effectively.

- Salary starting from £30,000 per annum

Who You Are
You are a qualified and experienced maintenance professional with a background in carpentry and joinery. You take pride in delivering quality workmanship, have excellent problem-solving skills and are committed to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of building fabric maintenance and repair works.
- Undertake carpentry and joinery repairs, installations and alterations.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities.
- Identify defects and implement appropriate repair solutions.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support the delivery of safe, compliant and welcoming healthcare environments.
- Can handle routine tasks and social interactions within a work environment. Ability to absorb policy and guidance necessary for the role.
Essential Criteria
- Carpentry & joinery NVQ level 2
- Proven experience within a maintenance, carpentry, joinery or building fabric environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong practical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
