Maintenance Operative
Maintenance Operative – Manchester, Circle Square
Salary: £28,500 per annum plus bonus Contract: Permanent, 42.5 hours per week Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm (Flexibility may be offered)
About the Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll ensure operational excellence by maintaining the highest building standards in a customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Problem-Solving:
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from students and staff, addressing issues in plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, furniture, and other equipment.

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):
- Conduct scheduled inspections of facilities to identify potential risks.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.

Repair & Refurbishment:
- Tackle general repairs, including fixing leaks, broken fixtures, damaged doors, and wall repairs.
- Complete minor refurbishments, such as replacing flooring, repairing furniture, and touch-up painting & decorating.

Ground Works & Exterior Maintenance:
- Maintain outdoor areas, including grass-cutting and hedge-trimming/shaping.

Safety Compliance:
- Adhere strictly to all health & safety regulations and protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications
Professional Experience
-
Proven experience in preventive and corrective fire alarm/firefighting system maintenance.

Skilled in a broad range of maintenance functions.

Familiar with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) within a comparable operational environment.

Strong compliance knowledge of health & safety regulations.

IT Literacy: Ability to use technical software/tools where required.
