Role: Maintenance Operative

Location: Bradbury House, Gosforth, Seascale, CA20 1AU

Contract: Part Time - Permanent

Hours: 10.5 hours a week. Tuesday and Thursday. 10am - 3:15pm

Pay rate: £13.39 - £13.49

Working as a team our Maintenance Operatives ensure that the property is maintained, and kept in a good state of repair at all times, by quickly carrying out minor repairs, undertaking pre-emptive repair work, and performing checks on structure, infrastructure and equipment.

The Role of Maintenance Operative

  • Provide first response to all repairs to identify the fault and repair or refer to Asset Management/nominated contractor.
  • Carrying out day to day operational repairs and maintenance of the building, its fixtures and fittings and its equipment. This will include painting and decoration to rented flats as they become void.
  • Complete checks of all specified equipment (plant and other) on a regular basis.
  • Routine testing within policy and procedure for fire checks and relevant health & safety policies.
  • Checking all lighting, inside and outside the scheme to ensure lights are operational and a VFM service is provided. Replace bulbs and report any electrical faults to management.
  • Carrying out minor repairs in tenanted flats and in leasehold flats where required. e.g. replace light bulbs, hang pictures/mirrors etc.
  • Placing orders for repair and maintenance material, tools and related goods.
  • Ensuring all relevant paperwork and documentation is kept current, that SOPs are updated as circumstance or legislation dictates.

  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people.
