Job Description
Location: Headingley Hall Care Home, 5 Shire Oak Road
To manage the internal and external maintenance of the facility and grounds at Headingley to ensure that they are of an appropriate hotel standard and reflect the vision of a high quality care setting to customers and visitors at all times.
To plan and agree schedules of maintenance with the Management Team to ensure that maintenance work does not conflict with the provision of care, customer enjoyment of the facilities and that emergency work is minimised.
To work independently and autonomously to manage maintenance whilst building excellent relationships with the Manager, Administrator, colleagues, customers and suppliers.
To carry out and record all facility, maintenance checks and tests as directed by the Manager and organisation.
To proactively identify and agree opportunities to improve the standard of buildings and grounds to ensure they meet the changing needs of new and existing customers thereby maximising customer satisfaction with regard to the facilities and grounds.
To contribute to the success of events and marketing activities by contributing to the planning and management of the event in a positive and practical manner and ensuring the facility and grounds are seen at their best by visitors and prospective customers.
About The Role
This role is a casual position to cover annual leave and sickness and will be required to work over our 4 sites.

Required Criteria
Basic Plumbing & Carpentry: Fixing leaky faucets, unblocking drains, repairing doors, and assembling or fixing furniture. Painting & Decorating: Keeping the environment fresh, which is vital for the mental well-being of residents. Electrical Safety: Safely replacing light bulbs, fuses, and checking appliance cords. Logging & Reporting: Understanding the difference between minor in-house fixes and what requires certified specialist servicing (like LOLER testing). Infection Prevention and Control: Knowledge of deep cleaning protocols, waste disposal, and maintaining water temperatures to prevent bacterial outbreaks like Legionella. Fire Safety Awareness: Understanding fire prevention techniques, evacuation procedures, and conducting routine testing of fire doors, extinguishers, and emergency lighting.

Patience and Empathy: Interacting with residents who may have cognitive impairments, physical disabilities, or dementia. Adaptability & Problem Solving: Prioritizing urgent health and safety issues over routine cosmetic fixes
