Plasma Biotal Ltd. require a Maintenance Operator to join their Production Team
We are seeking a reliable, skilled Maintenance Operator to join our maintenance and production team for installation and maintenance of our powder processing and thermal spray equipment and chemical plant infrastructure. Reporting to the Production Manager you will play a key role in maintaining critical equipment such as pumps, spray dryers, furnaces, sieving machines, milling equipment and elutriators.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on various machinery and equipment across multiple sites/units in Tideswell and Buxton.
- Identify maintenance needs and address them proactively.
- Respond to maintenance requests from departments/sites promptly, prioritising tasks based on urgency and ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules, minimising equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections.
- Ensure the availability of necessary materials for repairs and maintenance tasks.

Required qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering
- BTEC Level 3 in Engineering
- An engineering apprenticeship (mechanical or electrical)
Key skills & attributes:
- Ability to work safely and effectively on your own or as a two person team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities.
- Take pride in keeping things tidy and well-maintained.
- Strong organisation and time management with good attention to detail.

Desirable experience:
- Driving licence required
- Electrical experience
- Understanding of three-phase systems
- Mechanical maintenance, bearing, gearboxes, rotor, pumps etc.
- PAT testing
- Forklift licence
Salary and hours:
- Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week)
- Monday to Thursday 8am – 5.15pm
- Friday 8am – 1pm
- £30,000 - £35,000 per annum dependant on experience/qualifications.
- 22 paid holidays per annum + bank holidays.
