Maintenance Person – Pine Lake Resort, Carnforth
About the Role

Pine Lake Resort (part of Hilton Grand Vacations) is seeking a MaintenancePerson to join our team on a shift/rota basis with a flexible working pattern. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, this position is essential in ensuring our resort upholds its flawless reputation through excellent facility maintenance. You’ll be responsible for:
- Proactively maintaining all areas to guarantee high standards across the resort.
- Resolving issues efficiently—whether routine tasks or emergency repairs.
- Overseeing room pre-arrival checks to prevent problems for guests.
- Collaborating on projects to enhance the overall appearance and functionality of units and common spaces.
- Managing records and administration to maintain a seamless operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all facilities and common areas are maintained to the highest standards.
- Complete maintenance activities in a timely and efficient manner, resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance tasks and associated paperwork.
- Improve the appearance and functionality of units, facilities, and guest areas through decorating and refurbishment projects.
- Conduct pre-arrival unit checks to identify and report any defects or issues arising from guest stays.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests swiftly, ensuring high service recovery.
- Assist with general cleaning and day-to-day maintenance as required.

Requirements & Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Possess good working knowledge and experience in at least one tradeskill (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, décor).
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, taking full accountability for resolving customer-maintenance issues effectively.
- Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to express yourself clearly and listen actively to colleagues and guests.
- Hold a Health & Safety Level 1 certification (minimum), with previous experience in health and safety practices.
- Bring proven maintenance role experience, ideally in a hospitality or similar environment.
- Exhibit strong multitasking abilities and resilience under pressure.
- Be self-motivated, independent, and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Show a can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and a passion for maintaining top-tier facilities.
Working Arrangements
- Hours: 40 per week
- Pattern: Shift-based, including weekends and Bank Holidays
- Location: Carnforth, LA6 1JZ
- Salary: £13.09 per hour
- Transport: Own vehicle is essential due to the remote resort location.
