Aircraft Maintenance Planner – Permanent Role
Location: Heathrow Airport, Greater London, England Sector: Aviation (Aircraft Maintenance Planning) Contract Type: Onsite / Full-time
Zenon are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an Air Cargo Operator based in the London Heathrow area for a Maintenance Planner on a permanent basis.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective planning of the client’s fleet of aircraft, liaising with Maintenance Control, Technical Services, and Materials departments to ensure all Line and Base Maintenance is executed within specified downtimes and spare resources are provisioned efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
- Continuously review the maintenance forecast and develop cost & time-efficient scheduling for all scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Diligently plan and approve maintenance activities, ensuring allocated spares, tools, and labour resources are available in advance.
- Create and manage line & base work packages via AMOS (Aviation Maintenance Operating System), detailing required maintenance tasks for aircraft.
- Issue formally written work packages and work orders to Part 145 Maintenance Repair Organisations (MROs) with clear instructions and specific requirements.
- Verify correct MRO compliance within returned paperwork, ensuring certification meets regulatory standards and updates AMOS appropriately.

Regulatory & Record Compliance
- Complete aircraft record management by updating AMOS, logbooks, and associated tracking sheets post-mission.
- Assist with audits by preparing aircraft records and reports as requested.
- Maintain historical maintenance archives for regulatory compliance and security.
- Depute Maintenance Planning Manager (AMP Manager) when required.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Work closely with Maintenance Control Engineers, Technical Services, Supply Chain, and CAMO teams to ensure maintenance efficiency, security, and compliance.
- Lead continuous optimisation of maintenance programmes, processes, and workflows.
- Support Part 145 sub-contractor audits to maintain operational excellence.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
- Extensive experience in Maintenance Planning, including aircraft-specific scheduling, forecasting, and regulatory oversight.
- Strong understanding of Critical Tasks (FAA/EASA) and CDCL (Certificate Durability Compliance Levels).
- Previous CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management) & Part M experience within aviation.
- Deep expertise in AMOS system architecture—advanced key user proficiency, including data setup and connectivity.
- Competence in Part CAMO regulations, document management, and maintenance record-retention compliance.
- Knowledge of aircraft weight and balance principles.
- Familiarity with MSG-3 (Maintenance Steering Group - Task Analysis) methodology.
