As our operations and maintenance portfolio continues to grow, we’re looking for a Maintenance Project Engineer to join the team based at our Head Office in Uddingston where you’ll support the successful delivery of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts across commercial, industrial and utility-scale renewable energy assets.
The Role
As Maintenance Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of renewable energy O&M contracts, with a focus on Solar PV, Battery Storage and associated grid connection assets.
You’ll work closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, internal teams and third-party stakeholders to keep works moving, resolve issues quickly and ensure agreed KPIs, SLAs and compliance standards are met.
The role will involve a mix of operational planning, technical coordination, client communication and commercial support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and taking ownership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance works across renewable energy assets
- Coordinating engineers, subcontractors, materials and site activity
- Overseeing fault response, defect close-out and performance issues to minimise downtime
- Supporting inspections, testing, inverter servicing, monitoring asset performance and compliance programmes
- Ensuring all maintenance records, certification and documentation are completed on time
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and supporting regular contract meetings
- Preparing operational, technical, financial and KPI reports
- Supporting budgets, cost tracking, variations and contract profitability
- Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with RAMS, CDM and company procedures
- Identifying opportunities for improvement, contract growth and service expansion

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
