Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)
Location: Immingham (DN40 1JP) Contract Type: Full-Time Hours: 35 hours per week Rate: £13.77 per hour
About the Role
At Havenmere Care Home, we seek a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team and uphold the high standard of support we provide to 38 adults with complex and high-acuity needs, including mental health conditions, neuro-disabilities, and brain/spinal injuries.
This full-time role will require you to:
- Perform daily maintenance checks and adherence to the maintenance manual
- Conduct plumbing, electrical, and joinery work while ensuring health & safety compliance
- Carry out repair, decorating, and redecorating tasks as directed
- Facilitate emergency evacuations, fire drills, and ensure weekly fire safety checks
- Perform Pat testing of electrical equipment
- Liaise with external contractors and oversee installations of gas, electrical, oil, and water systems
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the health and safety of yourself, service users, staff, and visitors
- Emergency Preparedness: Serve as a First-Response Technician for urgent call-outs
- Equipment Care: Safely handle and maintain equipment and chemicals
- Physical Requirements: Comfortable with extensive manual labour, heat, humidity, and various weather conditions

Required Skills
- Technical Competence: 17th edition electrical certification would be beneficial
- DBS Check: Paid DBS clearance provided after appointment
- Travel: Must hold a valid (full) UK driving licence—job responsibilities require frequent mobility
- Licences & Certifications: Willingness to work toward or hold Pat testing, 17th Edition Electrician Certifications
- Physical Ability: Strong manual dexterity in working with tools, plumbing & electrical systems
