Role Description
The Maintenance Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Leeds, responsible for overseeing daily grounds maintenance activities across a variety of client sites. This role coordinates and supervises maintenance crews, assigns tasks, monitors work quality, and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification. The Maintenance Supervisor manages equipment use and upkeep, schedules preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots issues related to tools, machinery, and site conditions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with Health & Safety standards, supporting eco-friendly practices, communicating with clients and internal stakeholders, and keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, materials, and equipment. The role requires hands-on involvement in maintenance and repair tasks when needed and active leadership in developing team skills and performance.

Qualifications

- Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, workload planning, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance for landscaping and grounds-care machinery.
- Hands-on experience with general maintenance and repair tasks in outdoor and horticultural environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, operational, and site-related issues efficiently and safely.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices in grounds maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with crews, clients, and suppliers.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including record-keeping and scheduling.
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field; supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites in the Leeds area as required.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in horticulture, landscaping, or maintenance is an advantage.
