A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR AT OUR HOTEL
Lead from the front in maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring they are safe, functional, and presented to the highest standard. Supervise and support the maintenance team, allocating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing guidance to ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Coordinate and deliver preventative maintenance programmes, helping to maximise the lifespan of equipment and minimise downtime through planned inspections and servicing. Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies, troubleshooting faults and ensuring repairs are completed safely and with minimal disruption to guests and colleagues. Work closely with departmental managers to identify maintenance priorities, support refurbishment projects, and ensure operational requirements are met across the hotel. Carry out regular inspections of guestrooms, plant equipment, public areas, and external facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and company policies. Monitor contractor activity and supplier performance, ensuring all work is completed to the required standard, within budget, and in line with relevant compliance requirements. Maintain accurate maintenance records, including planned maintenance schedules, compliance documentation, and repair logs, ensuring all statutory requirements are met. Support the Maintenance Manager or Hotel Leadership Team in managing departmental costs, sourcing materials, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements and energy efficiencies. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, helping to develop team skills and ensure a proactive approach to maintaining the hotel environment.

What We Need From You
- Good experience in a maintenance or engineering role, ideally within hospitality or a similar setting
- Expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Leadership skills, with a track record of supporting the maintenance manager in building a motivated and efficient team that deliver quality results
- Organisational and multitasking abilities to juggle a range of responsibilities and respond quickly to urgent issues
- Flexibility to respond to urgent repairs, including availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
- A passion for maintaining a safe, well-functioning environment that enhances the guest experience
