THE OPPORTUNITY – MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR OFFSHORE (CONTRACT PAYE POSITION)

To safely manage and control all Offshore Operations in the Morecambe Gas Fields and any associated operated Joint Ventures, optimising company resources to satisfy both business targets and legislative requirements. The job holder reports directly to the Offshore Installation Manager. They are responsible for managing a multi-disciplined team of engineers, team leads, and technicians both company and contract. They are part of a small management team at the facility and therefore hold direct accountability for a key operational area. As such, they will have significant input into the development work scopes within their area and ensure that expenditure is controlled according to budget, liaising with other Engineers to ensure that all activities are undertaken in a coordinated and effective manner.

The demand for continuing availability of facilities, reliability of operations, and continuous improvement of performance, places an emphasis on planning and the Offshore Operations Supervisor must develop short-term and long-term plans, assessing priorities and addressing conflicts. Activities up to one year ahead will need to be considered to ensure they are properly planned and coordinated into wider planning for the Company.

LOCATION – Morecambe Offshore – Mobilisation from Blackpool

CONTRACT DURATION – One year

ROTATION – 2/3 Rotation

DAY RATE – £655 - £800 PAYE plus holidays depending on Experience. Holiday days to be taken in Field break.

IN ROLE, YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Ensures compliance with the legal obligations placed upon the job holder, to secure the health, safety, and welfare of all offshore personnel, and through effective control mechanisms, ensure attainment of the objectives defined within the Safety Management System for the safe and professional management of the offshore assets.
  • Promotes a positive HSE culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards & procedures, including the Spirit Energy CMAPP and HSES Policy.
  • Act as Alpha Control or ERP support during any offshore Incident Management/Emergency Response, responding in a manner that secures the health and safety of all personnel, preserves the environment, protects the company assets, and maintains the confidence of the offshore workforce. Maintaining the necessary competencies to perform these duties.
  • Lead work pack reviews ensuring all relevant offshore personnel are involved in the review and work packs align to offshore procedures.
  • Ensure Performance Standard Assurance Activities are completed or deferred to maintain safe operation of all offshore assets.
  • Identify where performance standards are compromised, complete a suitable risk assessment, and ensure identified mitigation is put in place.
  • Lead barrier model reviews ensuring consistency and compliance with performance standards - if PS not being met, inform Production Supervisor of ORA requirement.
  • Act as liaison for Independent Competent Authority and Regulator.
  • Manage field cargo and deck/lifting operations through the Services Team Leader position, ensuring that the correct level of competence and assurance is in place.
  • Delivery of monthly and weekly maintenance plans, ensuring compliance to plan or the correct authorisation is obtained for deviation.
  • Responsible for maintaining backlog at pre-determined KPI.
  • Lead the review and management of equipment reliability, identifying single point failures or lack of equipment redundancy. Highlighting the production threats to the production supervisor.
  • Manage event reporting review 5-whys.
  • Focal point for spares and repairs management to ensure that quick turnaround of equipment and return to site with correct QA checks being completed in accordance with procedure.
  • Custodian of temporary equipment register and checks, ensuring compliance with procedure and effective management of the TELs register.
  • Manage and review operational integrity assurance programme for offshore Production Team Leads and Operations Supervisors.
  • Provide leadership to the offshore team through active demonstration of the Spirit Values ensuring Care, Courage, Collaboration, Agility, and Delivery are at the core of all aspects of offshore operations.
  • Ensure that optimum manning levels are met and that necessary levels of competence are available to effect safe and efficient operations.
  • Deputise for Offshore Installation Manager, acting with full authority to manage and control all Offshore Operations in the Morecambe Gas Fields and any associated operated Joint Ventures, optimising company resources to satisfy both business targets and legislative requirements.
  • Maintains strong working link with onshore maintenance/production leads, holding regular discussion on operational goals and objectives in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Complete operational assurance checks and audits for compliance against key procedures.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Valid Offshore Survival, Medical, and MIST certificates
  • HNC/HND in a relevant subject as a minimum is essential to provide the underpinning knowledge dealing with the technical issues that arise.
  • Team leadership experience in an offshore environment or complex process plant operation.
  • Has strong leadership and management skills commensurate with leading large operational teams in hazardous environments.
  • Skilled and experienced in people management with an ability to select, recruit, and develop talent in the organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in complex and ambiguous situations – able to adopt a calm and composed mentality that promotes proactivity and deals with disagreements, problems, and issues in an open and constructive manner.
  • Leads the performance management process across their team; is clear on the strategic objectives of the organisation and communicates/clarifies the role their team plays in their delivery; ensures every employee has clear goals and objectives and are provided with continuous feedback in a timely, honest, and constructive manner.
  • Promotes a positive Incident Free Workplace culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards & procedures, including the Spirit Energy CMAPP and HSES Policy.
