In the UK, Guardian Glass is continually looking for talented individuals to help us continue our growth and presence in the regional and global market. All UK manufacturing is based at our plant in Goole, East Yorkshire which has recently made significant investment in a new furnace using the latest technology and secures glass manufacture at the site for the next 20 years. The plant, which operates 24/7, can produce some of the most advanced and innovative energy saving architectural glass on the market today.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Day- Shift Supervisor within our Maintenance & Reliability operation.
This role is ideal for an experienced people leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, developing individuals and driving continuous improvement. While experience in maintenance or engineering would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are primarily looking for someone with strong leadership capability, a passion for developing people and a desire to learn how maintenance and reliability contribute to operational success.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping Guardian continue its journey towards a more proactive, planned and reliability-focused approach to plant performance.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a team in line with Guardian's safety vision, values and expectations
- Create an environment where people feel empowered to challenge the status quo, contribute ideas and take ownership of change and improvement.
- Support and advance our PBM culture by helping individuals understand how they can create value and contribute to business success
- Build team capability through coaching, development planning, regular feedback and effective performance management.
- Develop a strong safety culture by ensuring work is planned and executed to the highest standards.
- Work closely with Operations, Reliability, Engineering and Contractors to coordinate resources and deliver safe, efficient outcomes
- Support the transition from reactive ways of working towards a more organized, planned and reliability-focused operation
- Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, plant reliability and operational performance.
- Help attract, select and retain talented individuals who can contribute to the long-term success of the business.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Proven experience leading, supervising or coordinating teams.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial, process, logistics or operational environment.
- A strong commitment to safety and creating an environment where people can succeed.
- An effective communicator who can build positive relationships at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach and develop people.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize people, resources and competing demands.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and drive improvement.
- A desire to learn and develop an understanding of maintenance, reliability and asset performance.

What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience within a maintenance, reliability, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading teams in a 24/7 operational environment
- Knowledge of maintenance planning, asset care or reliability improvement activities.
- Experience coordinating work activities, resources and contractors.
- Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems or structured work management processes.
- The ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Experience supporting change initiatives and continuous improvement activities
