Electrical Maintenance Shift Supervisor – Redcar
Location: Redcar
Salary: £48,987.12 p/a + 2% shift allowance
Working hours: 4 x 12-hour day shifts (7am–7pm), followed by 4 days off
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Shift Supervisor to lead and support our electrical engineering function at our Redcar facility.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, focusing on:
- Ensuring plant reliability and operational uptime
- Driving high engineering standards across the site
- Coordinating day-to-day maintenance activities
- Promoting a proactive engineering culture
- Supporting a safe, efficient, and compliant engineering team
- Enhancing site performance through continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electrical engineering and maintenance activities across the site
- Drive plant availability through effective planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance management
- Lead the engineering team during breakdowns, ensuring faults are diagnosed and resolved efficiently and safely
- Ensure all engineering tasks are completed in line with company procedures and compliance standards
- Identify recurring faults and implement long-term solutions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor engineering performance and support best practice development
- Liasise with external contractors and suppliers for specialist maintenance work
- Work with engineering planning, permit systems, and maintenance scheduling
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and environmental compliance
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to engineers, electricians, and operatives

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (electrical bias preferred)
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead electrical engineering role in an industrial or production environment
- Strong background in maintaining production machinery and electrical systems
- Experience with fault finding on PLCs, VSDs, and relay logic circuits
- Understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
