Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Chard, Somerset

Job type: Permanent

Hours: 39 hours across 5 days. Either Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm Friday 7am-12pm or 8am-1pm

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience


Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer ready to take their next step into leadership, or an established Maintenance Supervisor looking for your next challenge?

We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our client in Chard’s maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring our manufacturing plant and facilities operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the maintenance team, allocating work and promoting positive team culture
  • Manage planned preventative maintenance and respond to reactive breakdowns
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded using the Agility CMM system
  • Coordinate servicing schedules, equipment inspections and statutory compliance checks
  • Liaise with contractors, manage spare parts and support the installation of equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Promote high standards of Health & Safety and ensure compliance across all maintenance activities

About you:

  • Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Strong mechanical and / or electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance and SMMS systems
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and Health & Safety
