Maintenance Team Leader
The Role
We’re looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to lead a team of technicians in delivering safe, reliable and efficient maintenance across our manufacturing facilities.
This is a key leadership role where you will ensure assets and equipment are maintained to the highest standards - maximising performance, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
You will play a pivotal role in embedding a strong safety culture, developing team capability, and driving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing customer focused, proactive planned and predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, effective asset management strategies whilst also maximising asset availability.
- Leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians (circa 10 direct reports)
- Promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all site standards and procedures
- Ensuring preventative maintenance is safely delivered to schedule
- Manage corrective maintenance activities—prioritising work to minimise production impact
- Working with a maintenance co-ordinator to planning team resource effectively to support outages, routine maintenance and improvements
- Supporting root cause analysis and fault diagnosis to prevent recurrence of issues
- Coaching and developing the team in structured problem solving and technical capability
- Supporting implementation and commissioning of plant improvement projects
- Driving continuous improvement opportunities within the team and wider operations
- Ensuring maintenance procedures, systems and documentation are accurate and followed
- Drive cost improvements to reduce the overall cost of manufacture
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Strong background in team leadership, ideally with an engineering background
- Experience leading a team in a 24/7 operational environment
- HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
Desirable:
- Experience working in COMAH / PPC regulated environments
Skills & Behaviours
- Strong leadership with the ability to build trust and respect
- High levels of emotional intelligence and communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
