About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician (mechanical bias), you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep, repair, and operational efficiency of all DCWW assets while minimising plant failures and maintaining compliance with company procedures.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance on equipment across the asset base, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to internal standards.
- Investigating plant failures and executing swift, high-quality repairs to prevent service disruptions and guarantee compliance.
- Performing like-for-like installations, refurbishments, and commissioning of equipment to specified standards and deadlines.
- Interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate tolerance and fits for optimal machine performance.
- Maintaining contextual knowledge of treatment processes to effectively diagnose and resolve operational issues.
- Ensuring mechanical and electrical systems meet mandatory legislative requirements through inspections, repairs, installations, and testing.
- Assessing spares and material requirements, then sourcing additional items via either the Supervisor or directly from suppliers.
- Implementing and upholding Information Management System (IMS) procedures to ISO standards, including maintaining accurate records for internal audits and BSI compliance.
- Recording all work details and working hours using a mobile device.
- Collaborating closely with the Alliance Partnership to execute large capital improvement schemes efficiently.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A recognised apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical or dual-skilled engineering, with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent City & Guilds qualification.
- A full UK driving licence (mandatory).
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- IT proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Practical experience gained in industry to complement your apprenticeship, ensuring full compliance with H&S (Health & Safety) procedures.
Additional Considerations
- Standby Rota Requirement: Artists will be expected to participate in a 1-in-4 rotating call-out scheme.
- Working Hours: 260 hours of planned working time (PWT), including options for overtime.
