Maintenance Technician – Mechanical

Working Location Dartford

Contract Type Permanent | Full Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute planned maintenance inspections with meticulous attention to detail
  • Plan and execute corrective/reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Optimise plant and equipment for maximum performance & availability
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessments to ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Maintain shift records, condition reports, and stock control documentation
  • Diagnose malfunctions and provide site management recommendations
  • Assist with engineering projects, new installations, and refurbishments
  • Administer the CMMS system with accurate updates
  • Collaborate in problem-solving workshops for root-cause analysis
  • Attend daily maintenance reviews, reporting on compliance & defects

Requirements

  • Higher-level technical qualification in related engineering:
    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 (apprenticeship route)
    • HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in an applicable discipline
  • Proven supported experience in process, production, or manufacturing sectors
  • Understanding of CMMS systems, their purpose & functionality
  • Competency with electrical systems and workplace safety
  • Strong diagnostic skills with methodical & logical problem-solving
  • Effective communication within high-pressure team environments
