We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician, with either a multi trade background or extensive care home maintenance knowledge gained in a similar role, who will be responsible for both reactive and planned repairs and maintenance at our home Arden Court in Eccles 💥
Please note to be successful in the position, you must be flexible to provide an on-call emergency support service out of hours when required.
Hours ⏰
- Full time - Monday to Fridays 👌
- Contractual hours - 37.5 per week 🙌🏼
- Salary - Competitive salary depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Carry out day to day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain high standards in the care home, including joinery, painting, and decorating, basic plumbing and electrical maintenance.
- Carry out statutory safety checks at stipulated frequencies including but not limited to fire alarm testing, emergency lighting, nurse call, water temperatures and ensure accurate records are kept.
- Undertake audits and ensure servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are maintained.
- Liaison with contractors and suppliers to service the needs of the care home.
- Work closely with the team to ensure that our residents live in a place that is safe and well maintained at all times.
- Fire warden responsibilities (training provided), overseeing fire drills and evacuations, and regular checking of all fire safety equipment.
- Ensure all bedrooms rooms are always refreshed and in a ready to let condition.

Who we are looking for
- A Maintenance Operative/Handyperson with experience in a wide range of property maintenance in a care setting.
- Proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks and responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings, external grounds, and equipment.
- Someone who can demonstrate excellent knowledge of Health and Safety, fire safety and legionella control.
- Organised self-motivated person who can work effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and have a positive can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and friendly attitude.
- Well-presented and punctual with a clean and tidy working practice.
- IT literate with ability to use an online audit system and organise work via our digital maintenance app.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) would be desirable.
- Driving license essential.
