Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician Roles – Mechanical & Electrical

Shift Pattern
- Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
- Pattern: 5-week shift rota

About the Role
Join the Operational Estates team to deliver reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Mechanical).
The successful candidate will:
- Carry out mechanical tasks as the primary responsibility.
- Work within a multi-skilled technical team, contributing to specialist technical services across all building disciplines, including:
- Plumbing
- HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
- Building systems
- Electrical systems (note: while primary role is mechanical, cross-trade duties may be required)
- Accept a variety of cross-trade duties post-training to deliver a high standard of service.
- Plan, prioritise, and manage workloads efficiently.

Requirements
- Time-served mechanical engineer with a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
- Qualifications to SVQ or HNC level (or currently working towards this).
- Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Experience in hospital estates maintenance is desirable.

Requirements
- Time-served electrician qualified to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship, with qualifications to SVQ or HNC level.
- Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Hospital estates maintenance experience is highly desirable.

Working Hours & Pay Adjustment
- From 1 April 2026, the full-time working week reduces from 37 to 36 hours, with part-time hours adjusted pro-rata.
- No loss of pay—the hourly rate will increase to maintain wages.
