Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen within the Casting Maintenance department for a Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate would be multiskilled (Mechanical and Electrical) or a single trade Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent, full-time shift position. Shift Patterns available are Monday to Friday 6-2 & 2-10 or a 7-day continental pattern.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Minimising production downtime by fault finding and resolving equipment breakdowns whilst preventing reoccurrences.
  • Performing preventative & planned maintenance work on Industrial equipment and building infrastructure.
  • Using mechanical and electrical drawings and documentation to undertake fault finding and modifications to industrial machines and equipment.
  • Contributing to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and eliminating recurring faults.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment adhering to all EHS Company policies.
  • Continuously enhance job knowledge through on-site experience, training, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum level 3 qualification, BTEC/City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in industrial maintenance and fault finding on electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and/or mechanical diagrams as well as fault finding in control panels on industrial systems.
  • Experience in any of the following will be advantageous: PLC's, Fabrication, Welding, Vacuum Technology.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications would be an advantage.
  • Resilient, resourceful approach, with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to pass medical which includes assessments for working at height and in confined spaces.
  • Proactive work ethic, strong initiative, and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.
