Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician – Glenrothes (Permanent)
About the Role
An excellent opportunity is available for a Maintenance Technician to join a leading engineering and manufacturing environment. The role involves supporting the production of high-quality industrial equipment while maintaining manufacturing assets, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The facility specialises in precision machining and assembly, with operations involving CNC machines, PLCs, and a mix of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and maintenance techniques
- Support equipment reliability improvements through planned maintenance activities
- Identify and eliminate root causes of unplanned downtime
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance to a high standard
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify waste reduction opportunities
- Share technical knowledge with colleagues across the engineering team
- Assist in identifying common equipment faults and implementing corrective actions
- Contribute to improving maintenance systems, procedures, and work standards
- Design and implement minor equipment improvements where required
- Ensures adherence to Health & Safety standards within the manufacturing environment
- Collaborate with the engineering team to maintain operational efficiency
- Support ongoing production performance through effective maintenance activities

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Previous manufacturing or engineering environment experience
- Advantageous: Experience working on CNC machinery, PLCs, or hydraulics
- Strong understanding of:
- Maintenance techniques
- Equipment reliability
- Health & Safety requirements
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills
