Maintenance Technician, Mechanical (Process) – CPLNG Facility

About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician – Mechanical (Process) for our CP (Calcasieu Pass) Liquefied Natural Gas (CPLNG) facility. The role requires performing preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, ensuring safety, operational reliability, and adherence to standards. The position reports to the Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor (Process) and collaborates with O&M (Operations & Maintenance) teams.
Responsibilities

Execute preventive & corrective mechanical maintenance at Liquefaction, Storage & Loading facilities while adhering to:
- CPLNG HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) processes
- VGIMS (Venture Global Integrity Management System)
- CPLNG Maintenance Manual & Work Management procedures

Identify safety risks and hazards in maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with Operation & Maintenance policies

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to maintain system reliability, acting as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for mechanical systems

Prepare & submit essential permits (ePTW where applicable) in advance of work execution, ensuring compliance with CPLNG guidelines

Collaborate with engineering & maintenance teams to coordinate scheduled maintenance tasks

Maintain daily work progress reports, tracking performance against established processes

Manage personal time card in compliance with CPLNG policies (including vacation, sick leave, on-call status, and training)

Supervise contractors, assessing project safety, quality, and compliance, while escalating non-compliance issues to direct supervisors

Provide technical mentorship & coaching while upholding accountability for performance

Acquire & manage specialised tools, equipment, and PPE as required for maintenance tasks

Participate in:
- Ready for Operations (RFO) maintenance planning
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) & Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup stages, including integrated commissioning/startup teams (with the EPC contractor)
- Engineering & design reviews (HAZOPs, 3D model, P&ID reviews)
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent; preference for a:
- Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or
- Nationally recognised certification (e.g., NCCER)
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance mechanical technician experience in:
- Oil & Gas, LNG, or Petrochemical facilities
- Skills in industrial standards & regulations, including:
- API, ASME (Process), NBIC pressure vessel relief testing, and more
- Applied knowledge in:
- Preventive & corrective maintenance of mechanical static & rotating equipment
- Specialised systems & machinery, e.g.:
- Loading arms, gangways, berth systems, cryogenic pumps (Cold Box, refrigerant storage)
- Reciprocating, screw & centrifugal compressors
- Diesel engines, air-cooled heat exchangers
- Flare systems, catalyst loading/unloading
- Experience in:
- Scaffolding, heavy rigging/lifting, industrial welding, machining, and fabrication
