Job Description

About the Role

As a Mechanical Technician, you will serve as the subject matter expert for the safe, precise assembly and testing of K-Winch products, including both diesel- and electrically-driven winches and masts. You will ensure that consistent, high-quality output is maintained across the K-Winch area, identifying and addressing production issues as they arise. You will demonstrate expertise in the use of hand and power tools, promoting safe and efficient use among your team. Your responsibilities will include driving assembly improvements, collaborating in engineering discussions, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring work is right the first time, on time.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble equipment accurately using blueprints, diagrams, and written procedures. Manufacture and maintain hydraulic systems, ensuring cleanliness and functionality. Detect and report material/product defects or equipment faults. Support on-time delivery and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with 5S and LEAN principles. Assist with the introduction of new techniques and machinery. Mentor and train colleagues as needed. Drive and implement process improvement initiatives. Engage in team meetings and provide constructive input. Complete tasks set by the Cell Leader and Line Manager in a timely manner. Perform quality control and functional testing (FAT) of K-Winch products. Submit engineering feedback to support design enhancement. Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and intervene in unsafe practices. Undertake other duties as required to support business operations. Participate in ongoing training for role proficiency and development.

Qualifications & Skills

Time-served mechanical apprenticeship. NC in a relevant subject. Experience in a mechanical-based profession. Familiarity with assembly and manufacturing environments. Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Desirable

Higher education in a relevant field. Forklift and overhead crane certification.
