Maintenance Technician
Join Wellesley Hospital in Wellington as a Maintenance Technician, where you will play the lead role in creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
Working 37.5 hours per week, you will be the primary person responsible for ensuring the service's facilities are fit for purpose. You will oversee all maintenance, gardening, and audits to identify and repair any faults, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for service users, staff, and visitors.
Working with established site teams, you will lead on all maintenance-related tasks for Wellesley Hospital, managing contractors and coordinating the upkeep of the service. You will be the main point of contact for all maintenance aspects at this location.

As a Maintenance Technician, You Will Be
To inspect, repair and/or replace all fixtures and fittings as appropriate. To repair damage to buildings, fixtures ad plant in consultation with the Estates Manager. To ensure that routine programmes of maintenance are established and maintained. To check all electrical items for safety before use. To maintain and record Health and Safety checklists as identified by management. To ensure that the company vehicles are properly maintained. To ensure that grounds and external environment are maintained in a tidy, attractive and safe condition. To liaise, monitor and escort site contractors, to ensure safe systems are adhered to as identified by unit management and/or H.S.E specified best working practice. To assist management team with any requirements related to security. To take part in on-call duties and to attend site if needed To support other Elysium sites as and when required

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will
Have proven experience within a maintenance role, preferably with some supervisory or lead responsibility. Comply with all health & safety systems and procedures. Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team. Show courtesy and respect to residents and colleagues at all times to ensure the highest quality of service. Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings. Be proactive, organised, and able to prioritise a varied workload.
Where You Will Be Working
Location: Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9FF
You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs.
There are 6 wards for people with mental health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
The Wellesley Hospital built in 2017 works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to deliver the best possible environment for patients with mental health issues.
