Maintenance Technician – Electromechanical (Shifts) – Greater Manchester, Oldham
Position: Equipment Maintenance Technician (Electromechanical)
Location: Greater Manchester (Oldham) Contract Type: Shifts (including days & nights)
Bluegate has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician specialising in electromechanical systems to join a globally recognised client based in Greater Manchester.
Successful candidates will enjoy a competitive salary, performance-based bonus, 24 days holiday (pro rata), full equipment training, and additional benefits.
About the Role
This role involves maintaining, servicing, optimising, fault-finding, and repairing complex electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment within a dynamic, manufacturing environment.

The position is based in Greater Manchester, operating under a shift-based work schedule (days and nights).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, optimise, and repair complex electro-mechanical equipment
- Perform fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs to ensure minimal downtime
- Implement predictive (PPM), preventive, and reactive maintenance strategies
- Carry out comprehensive component-level fault finding and repairs
- Upgrade equipment performance and process efficiency as required
- Work as part of the team in a fast-paced, global manufacturing setting
Qualifications & Skills
- Formal qualification at HNC/HND or Degree level in a relevant engineering discipline
- Practical proficiency in fault finding and repairing equipment at component level
- Proven experience in PPM, preventive, and reactive maintenance including breakdown troubleshooting
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is advantageous
- Willingness to work a shift pattern (days and nights)
- Cumulability to commute to Oldham/Greater Manchester is essential
