Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Major Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of Local Government customers, driving growth, strengthening relationships, and delivering strategic IT solutions across an established account base.
What will you be doing?
- Manage and grow a portfolio of university and college accounts of varying sizes
- Develop and execute account plans to drive revenue growth and long-term customer retention
- Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders across IT, procurement, and leadership teams
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts, including upsell and cross-sell
- Lead on complex sales cycles, from opportunity identification through to close
- Collaborate with internal technical, pre-sales, and vendor teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Stay aligned to public sector frameworks, procurement processes, and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting
- Represent the business professionally within the education sector, building credibility and market presence

What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate is a confident, relationship-driven sales professional with experience navigating the public sector and a strong understanding of IT solutions. You will be comfortable managing an established account base, quickly building credibility with existing customers while identifying new opportunities for growth. Commercially astute and highly organised, you will be able to manage complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders with ease. Most importantly, you will be proactive, resilient, and driven to deliver results, while working collaboratively with internal teams to provide outstanding outcomes for your customers.

Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in IT sales within the public sector (essential)
- Experience selling into Higher Education and/or Further Education customers (desirable)
- Background working for a technology vendor or IT reseller
- Strong track record of managing and growing strategic or major accounts
- Good understanding of public sector procurement frameworks and processes
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Self-motivated with strong organisational and pipeline management skills
Practical stuff
Where is the role based?
Primary location is our HQ in Pocklington (YO42), this is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the office.
How many interviews?
Following a screen with the Recruitment Team you can expect a two-stage interview process, one online and one in-person.

Important BPSS Check
As part of our recruitment process due to the nature of the work we do, all employees are required to undertake a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) check.
