Shape the Future of Water – Join Stantec’s Major Projects Team in the UK

We have entered a transformative era for Stantec’s Water business in the UK. The UK's regulated water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment, and Stantec is at the forefront of this transformation.

Following the announcement that Stantec has been named as a Primary Designer for the multibillion-pound Scottish Water Enterprise, we are embarking on the largest investment program in Scottish Water’s history. This landmark partnership, which potentially extends to 2039, places Stantec at the heart of modernising Scotland’s water and wastewater networks—from improving drinking water quality to enhancing nationwide water resilience.

This, coupled with a strong AMP8 pipeline and newly secured framework wins, means we’re growing our Major Projects teams across the UK.

To support this unprecedented win and our expanding project pipeline, we are inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals who want to lead the delivery of major projects across the regulated water sector.

This Challenge

This is a unique opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex projects in the UK water sector, with a specific focus on the Design & Build (D&B) environment. We’re interested in hearing from a wide range of professionals with experience of working in D&C for major projects, including:

  • Design Managers
  • Project Planners
  • Project Technical Leads
  • Civil Engineers
  • Mechanical Engineers
  • Electrical Engineers
  • CAD / Digital Designers

Our Commitment to Excellence

Our success is built on a simple premise: we deliver complex, high-impact projects that make a real difference. Stantec’s AMP8 campaign has seen the company secure significant opportunities with most UK and Ireland Water Companies—from feasibility studies and planning, to design for construction, construction management, operations, and maintenance. We bring talent, expertise and innovation together to drive successful project outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
