An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated Male Support Worker to join our Adult Services team in Kinson providing tailored, two-to-one support to a gentleman named Max, enabling him to live as independently as possible.

Working closely with Max, you would provide support in his own home, encouraging him to engage in daily routines, participate in social activities and community life, while promoting his wellbeing, confidence, and personal goals. Every day offers the chance to make a positive impact by helping Max enjoy a lifestyle that reflects his individual preferences and goals.

To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK driving licence, and have access to your own vehicle.
The role
This role would involve taking part in a range of different activities from taking leisurely walks in the new forest, visiting the local café for a drink and a cake, having a kick around with a football, listening to music and completing puzzles.
Max communicates in his own unique and meaningful way using visual aids, PECS cards, signs and gestures, helping him to express his choices and preferences every day.

Working in Max's team is a 2:1 service which means you will always be working as part of a team to provide the best support possible. This would include personal care, medication and meal preparation, but just as importantly, you’ll help him enjoy life, stay active and achieve his goals.
Hours
- Full Time
- A mixture of shifts between 7am – 10pm - Monday - Sunday
- This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)
A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:
- Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
- Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
- Following the support plan in place for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
- Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
