Male SEN Teaching Assistant: Charlton, Greenwich: Full-Time: Temp to Perm
A specialist SEN school in Charlton is looking to appoint a reliable and motivated Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
This position would suit someone who is hands-on, resilient, and keen to support pupils who benefit from structure, consistency, and positive role models within the classroom.
The Role
You will support secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism and social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The role will involve working closely with individual pupils, helping them stay engaged, manage behaviour positively, and access learning in a way that suits them.
Male SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for targeted pupils
- Assist with behaviour regulation and engagement in lessons
- Support the delivery of adapted learning activities
- Promote independence, routine, and confidence
- Work closely with teaching staff to maintain a structured environment
- Personal care duties
