Management Accountant

Your role in the JoJo story…

Reporting to: Senior Management Accountant

Department: Finance

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will gain experience from the transactional level to Management Accounts preparation and will have exposure to other areas such as the year-end audit, budgeting and forecasting, VAT and regulatory compliance. You will work very closely with other members of the Finance team. The Finance team at JoJo play a pivotal part in facilitating the company's strategic planning and growth. Working as part of this team you can make a significant contribution.

A peek into your daily adventures:

Preparation of monthly management accounts for the retail channel. Perform in depth variance analysis with commentary at store and channel level. Assisting with the monthly management accounts for other business areas. Creation and distribution of management financial reports, providing commentary on performance vs budgets. Undertake balance sheet reconciliations and assist with internal reviews. Business partnering with internal stakeholders. Assist with the group consolidation of our parent entities. Provide support to the transactional teams with Accounts Payable and Bank Reconciliation queries. Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and supporting the external audit process. Ad hoc projects and tasks as required by managers.

Competencies required for this role:

Knowledge and experience in the use of accounting and Microsoft packages including strong Excel skills. Experience using Microsoft Navision is desirable. Excellent attention to detail. The ability to work to monthly deadlines. Great at keeping on top of things and keeping those balls in the air. Strong ethical working practices in line with our company values

Skills that make you shine:

A relevant professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part-qualified with a path to full qualification. Experience within a management accountant's team or a similar role. Experience working within the retail sector is desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Work collaboratively within a team and independently. Be proactive; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail. Advanced Excel skills, SQL, and Navision accounting software are desirable.
