Management Accountant (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support a key business project.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis, while also providing support across the wider finance function when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of key accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of full monthly management accounts, supporting information, and reporting packs
- Ownership and completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
- Monthly overhead analysis and investigation of budget-to-actual variances
- Completion of Group Reporting Packs, including commentary and analysis
- Preparation of cashflow forecasts and projections
- Calculation of stock provisions, bad debt provisions, and customer rebate provisions
- Preparation and posting of weekly and monthly journals
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of KPIs
- Attendance at weekly and monthly management meetings
- Providing cover for the Financial Controller or Accounts Supervisor when required.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong month-end and management reporting experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- A proactive and adaptable approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally studying towards, or holding, a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), although Qualified by Experience (QBE) candidates will also be considered
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
- Experience of ERP systems, with SAP experience desirable but not essential
- Previous experience working within a similar finance environment is essential.
