The role in a nutshell:
Provide management accounting functions to ensure that the Company implements and maintains adequate financial controls and to provide reliable, accurate and timely management information to senior managers and stakeholders.
About the ‘Department':
Management Accounts prepare reports about business operations that help managers make short and long term decisions. They ensure that TFS implement and maintain adequate financial controls and provide accurate and timely information to senior managers and stakeholders. The team is structured around two distinct functions: Management Accounts and Reconciliations.
What you'll be doing:
- To manage the month end reporting process
- To take responsibility for the accurate and timely submission of the monthly General Ledger figures and Key Performance Indicators using Hyperion Essbase
- To prepare the monthly financials data for senior managers, including variance analysis to budget and latest forecasts, new business written, margin calculations and details of current provision levels
- To drive best practice for cost management
- To manage monthly Cost Centre reporting with variance analysis and to assist the budget holders monitor and control their overhead expenditure including project costs
- To take responsibility for the calculation of the Residual Value provision
- To ensure that external reporting requirements are met ie Finance and Leasing Association (FLA), National Statistics
How you could stretch this role:
- Suggest improvements to the department's processes and procedures, ie report development, encouraging a work culture of continuous improvement.
- Involvement in ad hoc projects
- Provide support to / deputise for the Senior Manager, Management Accounting on all matters as required

What you'll get to own:

Requirements
Key Experience & Skills:
- Proven management accounting experience, such as dealing with month end reporting, working with >£500m asset base, reporting to foreign parents, budgeting and forecasting
- Demonstrating a high level of commercial awareness
- Business partnering experience
- Strong cost control
- Proficiencies in using Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel at an advanced level and Power BI
- Strong written and verbal communication, including confidence in presenting
