Description

We are hiring for our client, who is seeking a Management Accountant to join its established finance team in Belfast City Centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant who enjoys producing meaningful management information, analysing financial performance and working closely with operational stakeholders. The Management Accountant will also take responsibility for billing activity and provide flexible support across the wider finance function.

The successful candidate will join a busy, collaborative environment where accuracy, commercial awareness and effective communication are highly valued.

The Role

The successful Management Accountant will:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Produce variance analysis, departmental reporting and financial information for senior stakeholders
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management information reports
  • Analyse financial performance and key operational metrics
  • Present financial findings clearly to non-financial colleagues
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Manage allocated billing activity, ensuring invoices are accurate and completed promptly
  • Prepare journals, reconciliations and accounting postings
  • Support payroll preparation, pension contributions, PAYE and VAT requirements
  • Maintain accurate working papers and supporting documentation
  • Provide operational cover across accounts, billing and credit control activities
  • Assist with receipts, payments, reconciliations and debtor administration
  • Support finance system updates, process improvements and wider departmental projects
  • Complete duties in line with relevant regulations, internal controls and company procedures
  • Support audit, compliance and internal review activity

The Person

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant through ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification
  • Experienced in management accounting, financial reporting and analysis
  • Confident preparing management accounts, reconciliations and financial reports
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using finance systems
  • Analytical and detail-focused, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities and working to reporting deadlines
  • Willing to provide flexible support across billing and wider finance activities
  • Experience within a regulated environment, billing, credit control, payroll, VAT or operational finance would be advantageous.
