The Role

Our client is an award-winning rewards and loyalty technology consultancy and infrastructure provider. They work with many of the UK’s most recognised brands across the banking, insurance, utilities, automotive and trade sectors. Combining behavioural science with innovative technology, they design and delivers rewards, loyalty and engagement programmes that create stronger emotional connections with customers, drive measurable commercial outcomes and build long-term loyalty.

As a small finance team, they are looking for a true team player - smaller teams allow for greater accountability, autonomy, and flexibility; great communication is essential. They are passionate about supporting the wider business flexibly, supporting growth and innovation, whilst retaining appropriate financial controls and maximising operational efficiency. They are looking for someone with finance experience and a customer service mindset.

Duties/responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Manager, Business Development and Account Management Teams.
  • Ownership of monthly margin reconciliations, and interactions with the BD/ ACM teams to fully understand and explain variances, supporting the Finance Director with quarterly review meetings.
  • Reconcile sales invoicing to monthly sales forecast and follow up on variances with Business Development/ ACM.
  • Co-ordinate with the account management, data, orders and fulfilment teams to reconcile campaign spend, ensuring every campaign is reconciled at least once quarterly.
  • Manage purchasing card reconciliations related to the Bookings system, liaising with CS, Products and Dev to drive continuous improvements, and ensure any financial exposure is limited by ensuring any unreconciled transactions are investigated.
  • Work with the Finance Manager to prepare annual budgets and update margin reforecasts as required.
  • Oversee and support Finance Assistant with suppliers on a non-redemption and/or rebate model to ensure accurate recognition of profit elements.
  • Responsible for recording and updating relevant teams regarding bounced cashback payments and liaising with the bank to provide specific information.
  • Responsibility for the preparation and review of the balance sheet reconciliations associated with the work you undertake including processing of the sales quote accruals and deferred income releases.
  • Ensure month-end processes are completed within agreed timelines, supporting the rest of the team where required to ensure the accounts are completed to deadline.
  • Ongoing maintenance/ troubleshooting of the financial software in relation to your areas of responsibility.
  • Support the Data team and Commercial Insights Analyst to improve and standardise MI across the business, also looking at how we can use the data insights to improve overall profitability and efficiencies business wide.
  • Perform the role with a customer-focused outlook, always aware of who our internal customers are and striving to provide the best possible service to them.

  • Ideal candidates will be part/qualified either ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience, as well as being confident and assertive with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with people at all levels. You will be determined to go the extra mile to achieve results.
  • Teamwork is essential in this role, therefore you must be team orientated and able to maintain positive and supportive relationships with your colleagues at all times.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally to internal teams, clients and suppliers.
  • The position requires someone who is highly computer literate, with excellent Excel skills.
  • Effective organizational ability and time management skills are crucial, and you must be able to work to tight deadlines.
