About the role
The UK Management Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, reporting directly to the UK & International Financial Controller and taking ownership of day-to-day financial accounting across all trading UK legal entities. This role is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the UK ledgers, preparation of monthly management reporting packs, and ensuring compliance with UK statutory and tax obligations.
The successful candidate will act as a proactive and reliable finance business partner to UK operational teams, supporting the Controller with statutory reporting, audit delivery, and continuous process improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Control & Ledger Management
- Calculation of month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and intercompany transactions
- Preparation and maintenance of Balance Sheet reconciliations for all UK entities
- Ownership of bank reconciliations across all UK entities, ensuring timely completion and resolution of reconciling items
- Review sales, payables, and intercompany ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support reconciliation of intercompany balances across UK entities as required, liaising with counterpart finance teams to resolve differences on a timely basis
- Preparation of UK payroll journals and recharges, liaison with the payroll function
- Preparation of UK sales reconciliations and support of billing team queries
- Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies as issued by the Group Financial Controller
- Preparation and posting of fixed asset journals and maintenance of the fixed asset register
- Maintenance and review of deferred and accrued income schedules, ensuring revenue is recognised in line with group policy. Assisting the UK & International Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller with IFRS 15 revenue recognition calculations and assessments.

Management Reporting
- Preparation of monthly management reporting packs for UK entities, including P&L reviews and variance analysis
- Assist the UK & International Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, and FP&A in producing detailed, timely reporting to support key stakeholder decision-making
- Support production of relevant KPIs and commentary for budget owners
- Preparation of month-end timetable deliverables in line with group close deadlines
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Preparation of UK VAT returns and journals, ensuring all UK entities comply with local taxes and regulations
- Support the UK & International Financial Controller in ensuring all annual reporting, including statutory accounts, annual returns, and corporation tax computations, is prepared on a timely basis
- Completion of various UK national statistics surveys
- Assist with Companies House filing requirements and entity-level record keeping
- Support PAYE-related filings and coordinate with advisors on employment tax matters as required
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with local sales and operational teams regularly, supporting finance queries in a timely and professional manner
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to internal processes; support ad hoc finance queries from local teams
- Build effective working relationships outside of finance to support understanding of financial performance
Audit & Compliance
- Supporting delivery of all UK audit requests, acting as a key point of contact for entity-specific deliverables
- Maintain organised and audit-ready workpapers and reconciliations throughout the year
- Support implementation of internal controls and flag any control weaknesses to the Controllers

Systems & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within the month-end close process
- Support finance transformation and systems improvement initiatives as the business grows
- Any other ad hoc tasks required by the UK & International Financial Controller or senior Finance leadership
We're looking for:
Essential
- ACA/ACCA part-qualified or equivalent
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and UK GAAP/FRS 102
- Skilled in organising tasks and establishing priorities to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent communicator, able to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload within a fast-paced environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
Desirable
- Experience with AccountsIQ or similar accounting software
- Strong understanding and experience of using Salesforce
