Management Accountant

The Business

Hawthorn is proud to be partnering with a private equity-backed group of premium manufacturing brands to recruit a Management Accountant. Built over years of strategic investment and reinvestment, this is a business with genuine scale and ambition, made up of multiple market-leading brands, each with their own identity, but united by a shared drive to grow.

With group revenues of c£85m and growing year on year, this is not a business standing still. Backed by a private equity partner with a long-term view and continued confidence in the leadership team, they are on a clearly defined trajectory towards their next phase of growth. Crucially, they are not just growing the top line; they are investing directly in the finance function to support it. This includes bringing in new talent, modernising processes, and building the infrastructure needed to scale sustainably.

The Role

At its heart, this is a genuine Management Accountant role. You will own the core fundamentals:

  • Month-end processes
  • Management accounts
  • Accruals and provisions
  • Business partnering within a close-knit finance team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

However, this role is not static. As the finance function modernises—aiming for fast advancement—there is ample scope to grow into the commercial side of the business. This Management Accountant role will allow you to collaborate closely with operations, engage in factory-level reporting, and influence decision-making by shaping critical data and insights across the group.

There is real opportunity for autonomy, where you can tailor the role to fit your ambitions and ambitions to fit the role.

Why This Role

This business—well-established but burgeoning under private equity backing—is evolving rapidly, and so too is its finance function. As both progress, your role and growth opportunities will expand. You’ll work closely with the CFO and Group Financial Controller, both committed to developing talent beyond just managing a team.

The culture is exceptional: collaborative, dynamic, and refreshingly flat. Everyone has a voice, and problem-solving happens transparently, collectively. It’s a private equity-backed organisation with a clear growth trajectory and sustained investment in its future. Joining now means being part of an inspiring stage of that journey, adding value from day one.
