At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. If you join us, you can play your pivotal role as a Management Accountant at our Rosyth site, supporting Liquid Gas Engineering and a high-growth Marine portfolio in complex, project-based environments.
This is a commercially focused finance role with real influence, autonomy, and visibility at a senior leadership level.
The Role
As a Management Accountant, you’ll:
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis
- Lead the month-end close process and enforce robust financial controls
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to explain financial performance
- Maintain rolling forecasts for revenue, profit, and cash flow
- Develop financial models to support planning, investment, and continuous improvement
This is a full-time position (37 hours/week, Monday–Friday) offering hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 days remote per week).

Essential Experience
- Time-served experience in management accounting, preferably within a project-led or engineering environment
- Proven technical accounting capabilities, including:
- Revenue recognition
- Robust financial controls
- Strong Excel skills with demonstrated financial modelling experience
- Confidence influencing stakeholders through clear, actionable financial insight
Qualifications
- Professionally qualified accountant (e.g., CIMA preferred; ACCA or equivalent accepted)
- Substantial post-qualification experience in management accounting or commercial finance
- Sound understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and governance
Security Clearance
- Eligibility to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance
