Our client is one of the UK’s most respected military charities, with over 140 years of history supporting veterans and service leavers into meaningful civilian careers. They are seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join their small yet experienced finance team at their London headquarters.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the right candidate will take ownership of:
- Monthly management accounts
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Financial reporting to ensure audit-ready financial statements
- Collaboration with Directors, operational managers, and fundraising teams to monitor funding streams
- Improving finance processes and systems for efficiency

This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of two days per week-based at the London office. The position is initially part-time (fixed-term), but with a clear path to permanent employment for the right candidate.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with equivalent professional status)
- At least two years of post-qualification experience
- Strong skills in:
- Producing management accounts to tight deadlines
- Interpreting data and presenting clear narratives to non-finance stakeholders
- Working with autonomy in a values-driven environment
- Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Xero is an advantage
- Working knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid would be beneficial
