Management Accountant
Our client, based in Gloucester, is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on an 8-week contract.
The role is available on a predominantly remote basis but will require travel to the Gloucester office for two days in the first week.
The hourly rate of pay is equivalent to £43,200, and the role is due to start ASAP. Due to the urgency around this role, we are currently unable to consider candidates with notice periods of 1-2 weeks.
Duties
- Managing and mentoring the Finance Officer – Reporting
- Working with the Financial Reporting Manager to produce monthly management accounts
- Planning, coordinating, and delivering budgets, along with the Financial Reporting Manager
- Working with budget holders to ensure they have sufficient funds to deliver the team’s plans and objectives
- Working with the Financial Reporting Manager to produce timely and accurate annual accounts with supporting documentation
- Ensuring all accounting records and control accounts are reconciled monthly and corrected on a timely basis
- Improving and creating new reports to improve accuracy, timeliness, and quality of information provided

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and modelling)
- Qualification CIMA/ACCA would be desirable, but this requirement is flexible
- Knowledge of social housing regulation/understanding of the issues of working in a regulated environment
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
