Management Accountant - Permanent - Slough (Hybrid) - Up to £60,000

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team based in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality financial reporting, analysis and business partnering to support strategic decision-making.

Reporting to the Finance Manager or Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management information, improving financial processes and supporting the wider business with financial insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines.
  • Produce monthly profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial plans in collaboration with departmental managers.
  • Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary on financial performance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with statutory audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Monitor business performance through key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and business processes.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Provide financial analysis to support commercial decision-making and business initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial projects as required.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP or finance systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
