Management Accountant Vacancy
Vardey Recruitment is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with a successful, well-established business (part of a leading international PLC group) to recruit an experienced Management Accountant.
This is a fantastic opportunity—with a clear career pathway to progress into the Financial Controller role. Working closely with an experienced Finance Director, this role offers broad commercial exposure and a pivotal role in the finance function across two operating businesses. Additionally, the role provides exceptional long-term career prospects, including international progression within the wider group.
Ideal candidates are qualified accountants seeking a dynamic role combining financial reporting, business partnering, and process improvement.
The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts for two operating businesses
- Prepare and review:
- Management accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting schedules
- Present draft accounts to the Finance Director and senior leadership
- Manage financial reporting deadlines for month-end, half-year, and year-end cycles
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Monitor and forecast trading cash flow
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with Group requirements
- Submit financial information via the Group’s reporting system
- Prepare consolidated quarterly VAT returns
- Deliver commercial reporting and financial analysis to enhance business performance
- Identify automation enhancements using Microsoft Copilot and AI-driven technologies

Technical & Industry Exposure
- Broad exposure to senior stakeholders
- Advanced financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Continuous improvement initiatives in reporting processes
About You
A technically strong and commercially minded qualified accountant who thrives in roles where they can take ownership, build stakeholder relationships, and add value beyond the numbers.
Essential Criteria
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
- Experience preparing monthly management accounts
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical prowess
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of FRS102/IFRS, plus UK VAT regulations
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Group reporting systems, SQL, or BI reporting tools
- Proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement
