Management Accountant

Nottinghamshire (Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office)
£35-40k
25-30 hours per week (flexible)

Eaton Syalon are delighted to be partnering with a well established, purpose led organisation to recruit an experienced Assistant Management Accountant | Management Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract to start asap.

Supporting an experienced Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong candidate who enjoys producing high-quality management information, partnering with stakeholders and helping drive informed financial decision making.

Offering genuine flexibility, the role is based on 25-30 hours per week with just one day a week in the office once you are up to speed and the remainder working from home.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll take ownership of the monthly management accounting process, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting across the organisation. This is a varied role that will see you working closely with budget holders and senior stakeholders whilst supporting ongoing financial planning and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts
  • Month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Variance analysis and commentary
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Support year-end accounts and audit preparation
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting and finance processes
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller across wider finance projects

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail whilst also being able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience preparing monthly management accounts from start to finish
  • Strong Excel skills, including confident use of formulas, Pivot Tables and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Previous experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
  • AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience candidates will all be considered
