Management Accountant

Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is working in partnership with a successful and expanding organisation to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to join a dynamic finance team, taking responsibility for financial reporting, month-end activities and business performance analysis across multiple operating entities.

The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and will suit an individual who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with commercial insight. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting while driving process improvements and supporting wider business objectives.

Please note this is an office-based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end reporting cycle for designated business entities, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met and financial information is accurate.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary for stakeholders.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Perform regular reconciliations across multiple banking facilities and currencies.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, ensuring additions, disposals and depreciation are accurately accounted for.
  • Support treasury-related activities and process international supplier transactions where required.
  • Account for financing arrangements and other non-routine financial transactions.
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements, statutory reporting and finance compliance activities.
  • Prepare indirect tax submissions and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.
  • Review and enhance financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide support to transactional finance teams when needed.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, financial analysis and business initiatives across the wider organisation.
  • Provide cover and support across the finance function during periods of absence or increased workload.

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or another relevant analytical discipline, or possess equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience within a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or comparable finance role.
  • Actively studying towards, or intending to study towards, a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of financial data.
  • Experience using ERP or accounting systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Proactive and self-sufficient, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Able to work independently whilst recognising when collaboration or escalation is required.
