Management Accountant
Management Accountant – Oxfordshire
Our Client
Mackie Myers has partnered with a rapidly growing business in Oxfordshire to appoint a Management Accountant into their expanding finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a period of growth.
The Role
The Management Accountant is responsible for:
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Maintaining strong financial controls
- Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts
- Contributing to statutory reporting
- Supporting audit requirements
- Overseeing stock accounting
- Acting as a business partner to strengthen processes
- Driving continuous improvements across finance systems and processes
Main Duties:
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis
- Prepare VAT returns and support statutory and audit requirements
- Maintain and update weekly cash flow forecasts, analysing key variances
- Support budgeting and forecasting, liaising with management
- Contribute to systems improvements and act as systems administrator
- Ensure accurate stock records and manage stock takes
- Provide cover for accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and banking activities as required
- Work towards a professional accounting qualification

The Successful Candidate
- Part-qualified and actively studying towards ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification
- Strong understanding of UK accounting principles, including VAT compliance
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS
- Experience using ERP or finance systems
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset
