Management Accountant

Management Accountant – Oxfordshire

Our Client

Mackie Myers has partnered with a rapidly growing business in Oxfordshire to appoint a Management Accountant into their expanding finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a period of growth.

The Role

The Management Accountant is responsible for:

  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintaining strong financial controls
  • Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Contributing to statutory reporting
  • Supporting audit requirements
  • Overseeing stock accounting
  • Acting as a business partner to strengthen processes
  • Driving continuous improvements across finance systems and processes

Main Duties:

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis
  • Prepare VAT returns and support statutory and audit requirements
  • Maintain and update weekly cash flow forecasts, analysing key variances
  • Support budgeting and forecasting, liaising with management
  • Contribute to systems improvements and act as systems administrator
  • Ensure accurate stock records and manage stock takes
  • Provide cover for accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and banking activities as required
  • Work towards a professional accounting qualification

The Successful Candidate

  • Part-qualified and actively studying towards ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting principles, including VAT compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS
  • Experience using ERP or finance systems
  • Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset
